Delphi Lodge, Galway
Delphi Lodge Hotel Connemara“
Thank you so much for an amazing couple of days. The hospitality and food has been second to none. All our guests have commented on the warm and fantastic service provided at Delphi Lodge. I have no doubt we will be back again.- Michelle & Pete Rowley, Ireland
Delphi Lodge was truly the best experience I've had in all of Ireland. I've been traveling for a month all over Ireland, in many different types of accommodations, and the Delphi Lodge lived up to everyone of my expectations, and then some. It's a place you read about in novels, or see in movies, the manor home/hunting lodge from the past Victorian Era. Its rooms are perfectly modern, comfortable, and spotless. I am traveling alone, however was treated like an old friend, from the second I got there, and never felt alone for one second. The "dinner party" evening meals were a solo travelers dream come true, all the guests are served together in the elegant dining room, and I was surrounded by extremely warm and friendly people, from all over the world, which I felt as if I already knew for decades. Michael, the lodge's Irish host, who made me feel like one of the family from the second I arrived. He's is gregarious, kind, and extremely helpful, he is the perfect welcomer to all his guests, but especially to this solo traveler. I cannot say enough good things about this dream destination. The setting steals the show, the lodge is nestled in the most breathtaking scenery the American has ever seen, and I've traveled all over the world, the Connemara mountains are the back drop of this storybook lodge, which cannot be explained in mere words, it's a feeling of magical awe, when you first arrive you're blown away with the views from every direction, the mountains are the background and the lough is the front "lawn," which is in full view as you first see the lodge. You don't have to be an outdoorsman, or a fisherman, to enjoy this part of Ireland or to enjoy this wonderful location. There is many things to do and see in the Connemara National Park, there's historical, cultural, and the like, all within this one area, if you're a photographer or artist you will be overwhelmed by the numerous views from every angle and these sights will be hard to absorb at first glance, so you must stop a moment, and just breathe in the natural surroundings, this part of Ireland cannot be explained in words it's peace and the serenity is truly priceless and should be at the top of your must see places in Ireland. To conclude, the Delphi lodge lives up to everyone of of my expectations and then some, and I cannot wait to return again in the future.- Elizabeth Reilly, USA
Just back from our exceptional weekend at your beautiful lodge! I cannot thank you enough for all your help over the weekend. Everything was top class! The food was divine. The service exemplary. The house itself stunning. We felt very at home. I would recommend your lodge at every opportunity. There should be more places like Delphi lodge to make this world a better place. Please pass our thanks and compliments to the whole team.- Anne & Tim Scrivener, UK
My wife and I would like to thank you for a most enjoyable experience.
We loved every minute of it especially the informal, homely nature that you and your staff have created for your guests. The food, rooms and facilities are exceptional.
Please pass on our appreciation to all your staff for making what was for us a special break away even more special. Regards and I do hope we see you again before my 50th!
We'd like to thank you and everyone at Delphi for such a lovely stay last week. Linda, the kids, and I will fondly remember our days there. Personally, I was intrigued by our talks about your desire to bring even more pleasures and success to the lodge, be it through cuisine or some other allure consistent with the extraordinary fishing legacy. Looking forward to catching up down the road. And, again, thanks for a wonderful experience.- Lee Eisenberg, USA
I wanted to write and thank you, David, and Mick so very much for one of the best times I have ever had on any trip!! You all made me feel so special, and I was truly touched by David's write up on the Web and photos (I have told all my friends, who have also enjoyed looking at it!!), Mick's toast at dinner and giving everyone a glass of champagne, and, of course, all wonderful catch-ups with you over tea. And, of course, I can't forget Peter Joyce, ghillie and person extraordinaire!!
I miss you all!!
THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!- Mary Martha Waltz, USA
